Beyond Burger

This burger recipe is a copycat of a traditional meat burger but completely vegetarian!

So remember how I told you all that I’m a non-vegetarian living in a veg household?! Well these beyond burgers are perfect for getting my meat fix BUT also are completely vegetarian! Even my vegetarian husband can’t get enough of these! Now, I know, Beyond Meat makes pre-made burgers but lets be honest, they have no seasonings or flavor in them. So I used their Beyond Beef ground “meat” to come up with my own variation of a burger and the result are these beautiful, juicy, flavorful burgers that are super great for lunch or dinner!

The ground “meat” molds together just like regular meat so it’s super easy to add in the spices and form into burgers. I line my burgers with wax paper until I’m ready to cook them and while these are best had fresh, you can make the mixture in advance and refrigerate for up to two days and cook them up when you’re ready!

The best way to cook these is on a pre-seasoned griddle. Just spray your griddle with a little bit of cooking oil and let these babies sizzle! Once they’re close to done, you can melt the cheese on it just like a regular burger! Hope you enjoy these tasty burgers!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Beyond Beef
  • 1/2 onion chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs

  • hamburger buns

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Beyond Beef, onion, parsley, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh garlic, and breadcrumbs
  • Mold into 4 burger patties using hands. You can line with wax paper until ready to cook
  • In a separate pan, sauté jalapeños until they are cooked down and roasted, set aside
  • Heat up griddle on medium high heat and cook burgers, about 3-4 minutes per side. Spread a little butter on burger buns and heat up on griddle as well
  • Once the burgers are near done, add a slice of pepper jack cheese on each and cover with a lid to help melt cheese faster
  • Slather a generous portion of chipotle mayo on the buns followed by the shredded lettuce. Slide the burgers on, top with the sautéed jalapeños and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can find Beyond Beef at your local grocery store, it’s widely available
  • Enjoy with a side of fries
